Appliances
29 September 2008
The Department of Health have been undertaking a long-running review of the reimbursement arrangements for appliances. This began with a wide-ranging consultation on the supply of appliances in 2005. A second consultation was published in May 2006 on the arrangements for dressings and reagents which led to imposed reimbursement price reductions in October 2006. Since then the Department of Health have consulted a further four times on the reimbursement arrangements for stoma and incontinence appliances. The latest consultation closed in September 2008.
In April 2009, the Department of Health published a summary of the new arrangements which will be implemented in 2010.
