Pharmacy Common Goals meeting

Leading representatives of pharmacy met in London on 5 August at a meeting convened by PSNC.  The aim of the meeting was to identify common goals, around which all the pharmacy bodies could co-operate and act in a concerted manner. At the meeting representatives focused on the importance of setting out a common and aspirational vision for pharmacy and pharmacists, and agreed on the importance of working together more closely and meeting again shortly.

Commenting on the meeting, PSNC CEO Sue Sharpe said:

"This was a really positive discussion based on a common understanding that where we can act and speak together we - and pharmacists themselves - are stronger.  There is agreement around many issues, and there was a real desire around the table to ensure that pharmacy capitalises on the opportunities that flow from the government's recent White Paper. Each of us has our own remit and constituency but there's no doubt that where issues bring us together we can pool resource and expertise for the benefit of the profession.  I'm very pleased that we quickly agreed on the importance of meeting again as soon as possible to continue what we have started."

Representatives from the NPA, CCA, AIMp, PDA, RPSGB, IPF and Numark attended the meeting organised by PSNC.
