To ask the Secretary of State for Health if he will review the procedure for considering applications to open pharmacies within the areas of dispensing GP practices.

Current arrangements in rural areas reflect previous agreements between representative bodies of pharmacists and doctors.
Our White Paper ‘Pharmacy in England, Building on strengths, delivering the future' sets out a number of proposals for structural reform including market entry. We are currently holding public events to hear views on these on which there will be full consultation later this summer.
