GPhC Modernising Pharmacy Regulation Consultation

The General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) has launched a consultation on changes to the way in which pharmacies are regulated called Modernising pharmacy regulation. It will run for 13 weeks until 7 May 2012.

The consultation sets out new draft standards outlining what patients should be able to expect from their local pharmacy. Pharmacy owners and superintendent pharmacists will be responsible for ensuring all registered pharmacies across Great Britain meet the standards. Views are being sought from both health professionals and the public on these new standards.

Full details of the consultation, including ways to respond, can be found at http://registeredpharmacies.org/
